Oaken’s cabin was nestled in a broad, lush valley between piercing mountain peaks. During the day, those peaks gleamed in shades of pink and copper and rose gold. Like this, at night, they were painted in silver and ink, so huge it was as if the very bones of the planet had broken and pressed through the skin.
