A community hidden away from the general public, away from whites and coloreds alike…When it comes down to it, we are the only ones that can protect us, nobody else and we have accepted the fact that we will be outsiders to everyone. So let’s build for ourselves…We’ll go underground…”
Agreed, having our own communities would be ideal instead of trying to blend into a society that hates us
“We can stand to be surrounded by native tribes that have been here since the beginning.” He pointed to the tribal men sitting up front. “Wouldn’t it be amazing if we had a special place made just for us…Nobody would know about it or have access to it. We wouldn’t have to deal with the whites…We can just grow our own community and raise our children properly…without the shame from the other Negros. We are fighting back by making ourselves stronger and standing in numbers.”
She had tattoos and piercings that were such a turn off, I cringed.
She was beautiful with light caramel complexion with sandy brown hair and light blue eyes. Her delicate face almost looked porcelain doll-like as she stood talking to the two unfamiliars. She was exactly what a legacy and a Beta girl should look like.

“Y'all a little too old to be playing school bully, no?!” she yelled back. “What are y'all like fucking thirty?! The fuck! Too old for that shit! If you want to talk to a woman then approach like a real man!”
“What’s going on?” I asked, getting into teacher mode.
Why were you not in teacher mode when y’all was just discussing how the guys had stolen from the women?
You are your only friend, you understand me!? Not me, not yo aunties, not anybody but you! Now…” He calmed himself down with a hard sigh. “Tell me, what the hell is going on now?”
But he just told her to stick with Maggie like it was her big sister? So why now is he saying she should only worry about herself? That doesn’t make any sense!
“Those that aren’t like us…You know, the other Blacks…” My brows shot up, having never heard a Black woman who was obviously as Black as me, call someone that looks just like her…the other Blacks…. She frowned as she sat up right.
“I personally don’t believe in mixing with them but it's a lot of these mixed hybrid babies running around so…that’s what’s feeding the school these days…Dr. Marvin Holmes isn’t…right in a lot of things…and I know that man has done some shady stuff but…” She shook her head. “…he and his family had the right idea. They don’t date outside of their own. Their bloodline is pure.”
Now we got just any lil’ Daquan and Rameisha running around here claiming to be magic. It ain’t right.”
those Blacks
I wanted to scream out, BITCH I don’t care about any of this weird shit.
“Miss Avery, there’s no need for–––” “Shut the hell up, Professor,” I let out. “Because why the fuck am I even standing up here unless I’m meant to be on display, no?”
Literally like you’re trying to teach him a lesson or know why the fuck do you have her up there asking them to guess where her scars are from the fuck
Hawkins turned to look at me with a wink before motioning for my skull cap.
Me as a grown woman is not gonna let another man tell me I can’t wear a hat no matter where I am. And even if he told me it wasn’t kosher to wear the hat I still would not have given my hat to him I would’ve just took it off maybe
“I saw a pretty bitch on the corner and wanted to make a daughter with her. End of story. That’s how Souxie came about. Her mama ain’t shit, won’t ever be shit but a pretty face. Probably sprung out somewhere in them streets…only God knows what city she’s in now…if she ain’t laid out somewhere.”
“He’s getting you a car?!” Maggie shrieked before plopping down on the bed. “That man is crazy but I like the way he delivers.” She nodded in approval as I laughed.
Not saying that it’s not nice to get your child a car but these ladies are almost 30. Why do they not have the means to get their own I am just confused
You can tell. He probably talks crazy like that to her because he knows how this world is…better to hear it from him so when she hears it from random people she doesn't know…it's nothing. Right?” She pointed out. “That’s why he does it. That man was crying when you walked off.”
I get what she saying but call your daughter a bitch to get her prepared for a tough world is not the way to do it. He literally talks to her like she’s a random bitch on the street when that’s his daughter and he should be speaking loving to her instead of telling her that she’s going to be a slut or a whore or that she’s stupid
