Different doesn’t mean bad.
“You should take some flowers for her mom—like in the old days. People don’t do things like that enough.” I wrinkle my nose. “Don’t you think that’s kind of … trying too hard?” She shakes her head. “I’ll tell you what I think, Nick.” She sets her fork down and I know it’s about to get serious. “There’re not enough people in the world who try at all. Simple, sweet gestures go a long way with people, and showing kindness is a good, honorable thing. Your generation seems to have no sense of that these days. Take the woman some flowers.”
Even with space… I still know I want her more than anything.
I mean, I kind of feel bad for leading the guy on a wild goose chase, but then again, this guy had years to lock Eliza down, and he never did. Which is why I have to tell her how I feel. Right now. Because Eliza deserves someone who will fight for her. And that person is me. Love is worth the risk.
I’m absolutely in love with you, Nick. I’ve never felt more seen or more safe with someone. Thank you for showing me that not all men are the same.”
I’m so happy to finally get to tell you that not only are you my best friend, you’re also the missing piece of my heart that I didn’t even know was lost until you showed up in my life.
