Capone had his own rules on how he didn’t get women and children involved. That was why we were two different people, because while he didn’t get them involved, I brought the whole family tree into shit. You fucked with me? Oh bet. Now, I’m going to bring your old ass granny in this.
Ace was lucky I was a different man because had I been the Capp from fifteen years ago, and I didn’t have my own bundle of joy at home, I would have tossed this baby at her ass.
Had her exhaustion and naive demeanor not tugged on my heart strings, I probably would have choked her ass with the IV cord.
When I peeked in her bassinet at night, I couldn’t picture my life before she and her mom came waddling into it.
“I fight kids, so if they know what’s good for them, they better leave niece alone.”
I trusted you until you gave me a reason not to, and Kendra at the time hadn’t given me a reason not to.
“I appreciate you. I respect you. I think you’re worthy of all good things. You belong to me in the best way. I need you to know and believe all of that.”
“Wait, so I can't date anybody else?” “Joy, you are free to embark on a suicide mission if you want.”
You were mistreated in the past, taken advantage of, and I put this on my daughter and son’s life that you won’t ever feel like that again. I’m gonna always respect you and love the fuck out of you.” “Promise?” “I put that on Promise.”
She didn’t need to know the Capp that should have been committed. She just needed to know Cappadonna, her man, her daughter’s father that would do whatever for his family. She was my family.
As I sat across from my pops, I had this immense sense of pride being Cappadonna Delgato’s son.
“Get the fuck out of here and go to school. Matter fact, the next time I see you, and I will see you again, I want a fucking report card.
“You dead to me, bitch… I can promise that I’m gonna slit your throat if my son don’t make it.”
