“What?” Hannah snapped, raising an eyebrow. “You’ve never heard a woman enunciate the word fuck like a fucking lady?”
Kristin’s eyes bulged as she peered up at my two-story white brick home. “Are you sure you live alone? Because this place is massive.” “I hope I live alone,” I joked. “Let me know if you bump into anyone else. Also, scream and run away immediately.”
I slid my hands from his shoulders until they lay squarely on his chest. “Thank you for listening.”
“You’re walking around with your heart boarded up like you’re waiting for a storm to roll in.” Our noses bumped and brushed, and her eyelids fluttered shut. “The storm is over, Sunshine," I said softly. "It’s time to take the boards down.”
“Real men don’t run, sweetheart.”
“But there’s one more thing you need to know,” I said. “What’s that?” I kissed her forehead. “You’re mine.”
Hannah pointed to Erica. “She and Steve get it on so much they literally made a new person.” Erica laid her hand on her growing baby bump and shrugged. “A girl can only swallow so many times.”
Erica snickered. “That would be you, you adorable baby duckling. Just because I’m quiet doesn’t mean I don’t know my way around a cock.”
“Just because you’re resilient doesn’t mean you’re not hurting.”
I knew Will was my person.
“Check your price tag. You’re not on clearance. You are top shelf, sweetheart.”
“Don’t bother yourself with the opinions of unimportant people. Unimportant people are quick to criticize and slow to support.
It's a pity that people are so concerned with cramming love into a one-size-fits-all box instead of just celebrating it.”
“I’ll always show up for you.”
