Grief is like that, I guess. You think the world should stop, should fall apart with you, but it doesn’t. It keeps going. And you’re left standing in the middle of it, feeling hollow, watching everything move on like the person you loved wasn’t the very center of it all.
“I’ll wait for you to get older. But in the meantime, you don’t have to worry about being alone, okay? I’m here, and I’m not going anywhere.”
Jace cut left, and I launched the ball, watching as it spiraled through the air and fell perfectly into Jace’s outstretched arms. Because I was a god like that. Jace ran a few steps and then held up the football, shaking his ass at the rest of us as he celebrated the catch. “How the fuck do we ever win a game?”
“I think you hurt the poor girl’s feelings.” Matty smirked once we finally got past the field. I scoffed, giving him the side-eye. “Can I remind you that she was so desperate to have my babies she tried to put my old cum, that had been sitting in the condom for hours…inside of her—while I was sleeping
“Why are all the crazy ones hot?”
Me: … Cole: Hey! None of that rhombus of ridiculousness shit. Walker: Do you mean Circle of Trust? Because if so, that’s blasphemy. If not, what the hell is the rhombus of ridiculousness?
Matty: IT’S A QUARTER OF AN INCH, SIR. WHICH STILL MAKES IT HUGE.
Jace: As I was just saying…what does a hot dog use for protection? Me: What? Jace: Condoments.
Obviously seats needed to be bolted to the floor when I was around.
But I’d never told a bigger lie. There was definitely going to be fraternizing. More than she could ever imagine. And I, for one, couldn’t wait for the fraternizing to begin.
Casey Larsen. It would sound even better as Casey Davis. A grin tugged at the corner of my mouth. Okay, crazy…
Wow. Just another tally mark in the goddess column.
Matty: Where the fuck are you? Jace: Blink once if you were kidnapped. Matty: How the fuck are you going to see a blink through a text?
“If this was an invite, you could’ve skipped the whole ‘bag over the head and tie me up’ thing. A simple ‘you’re invited’ would have done the trick,”
“I’m going to kill you, ya back-alley hillbillies. I’ll fuck your mom and make you call me daddy! I am not going to be kidnapped by a bunch of wannabe Halloween decorations!”
Walker: Good luck, Parkie. I’m making the entire team watch the game, so don’t fuck up and embarrass me. Me: I should have said something to you like that every time you missed a save and lost a game last season :) Walker: …
“So, ice cream or should I throw them in a dumpster? Your call.”
Just seeing him kiss her had me wanting to murder him. That obviously wouldn’t go over well with my girl.
I couldn’t help but grin as I watched her. How could I not? She made me happy just looking at her.
“Breathe,” I murmured. Her breath left her in a sexy gasp, and I inhaled, because I wanted her air inside me.
“None of that…nonsense during our sessions, Parker Davis,” she muttered, her cheeks on fire again. “It’s not nonsense, but I like that you didn’t outlaw it outside of our sessions,” I
It had been twenty-four hours since my tutoring session with Casey, and no amount of following her or lifting weights or jacking off could change the fact that I was literally pining for her.
Walker: Can we not and say we did. I was trying to sleep. Cole: I just lol’d. Every time you say that, it’s definitely code for “fuck.” Walker: Olivia and I were trying to sleep!
Me: Me: Notice how I didn’t type that out, Cole. Cole: Notice how I didn’t get the full intent, Parker.
“I just mean, what part of football player means grave robber to these people?”
I didn’t know it was possible to eat a cookie like you were working a chainsaw, but Jace was showing me how it was done.
“I can kill a serial killer. I can’t kill a ghost!”
“Matthew Clay Adler, get your fucking ass out of the truck, or I swear, I will find a ghost, and I’m going to sic him on your ass for the rest of eternity!”
Why the fuck did cemeteries have to be so creepy? If I was ever in charge…of cemetery design…I was going to make everything look way better.
“You know what I was just thinking to myself?” Jace whispered. I glanced at him over my shoulder. “I was just thinking that we were missing mist…that this place didn’t look nearly creepy enough. And now look around us. Mist.”
My pulse quickened as I stared at the dark top, realizing this was it. We were about to pop open a casket and steal a ring off a dead woman’s finger. If that didn’t scream “secret society,” I didn’t know what did.
“We’re done?” Matty echoed, his voice filled with disbelief. “We dug up a grave, opened a casket, and robbed a dead woman. And all you have to say is that we’re done?”
I thought I was in great shape, but evidently a thousand-yard sprint was beyond my cardio abilities.
I did sneak one more glance at her, though—because how could I not—and her eyes were definitely trained on my ass. “Like what you see?” I called out over my shoulder, laughing as she jerked her gaze away, pretending to look at the grass beneath her feet as her blush deepened, and she gave a little scoff. “That’s okay, keep looking, baby, just know I do the same thing every time too,”
I may have sobbed after that, but at least I hadn’t done it in front of him. Because he didn’t deserve my tears.
“The delusion is setting in. We’d better call a doctor,”
I wanted to latch myself onto her and stitch her to my side so we were never apart. That sounded creepy, but I obviously meant it in the most obsessed, deranged, love-struck way, of course.
“Good, then I’ll be your first and your last, Casey Larsen, and I’ll get to ruin you, baby, starting right fucking now.”
“You don’t get to regret this. You don’t get to regret me. I’ll let you run tonight, but get ready for me, baby. It’s go time tomorrow. You let me taste you. There’s no ending to this story where I don’t get it all.” I gaped at him, because he sounded so serious. “I’m still—I literally just broke up with someone.” “Bullshit. You and I both know this was inevitable, the kind of inevitable that gets tattooed on your skin until the day you die. I’m not going to be your rebound, Casey Larsen. I’m your end game.”
This was it. This was what I’d been obsessing about since the moment I’d first seen her in class. And now I wanted more. I wanted her by my side, in my truck, in my jersey, in my bed, on my dick…I wanted to never be without her.
“One thing you should know about me,” he murmured, his eyes locked on mine, “I always keep my promises.”
wanted you from the moment I saw you. I couldn’t get you out of my head.” Parker’s grin spread, slow and satisfied, as if I’d just given him the best news of his life. “Well,” he murmured, his voice dropping low, “at least you’re admitting it.”
If I wanted to get into that end zone, I needed to actually think about football without it ending in an imaginary orgasm.
“Really, Matthew. Are you pretending you haven’t seen Parker’s dick?” drawled Jace. “It’s like a monster had a baby with a blue whale and settled between his legs for a party.” “That was…oddly specific,” I frowned. Although he wasn’t wrong…
“Now, get off this bed and start getting ready. We have a party and more orgasms to get to. Emphasis on the more orgasms, of course.”
“Don’t mind me,” Nat muttered across the room. “I’ll just be over here wishing it wasn’t socially unacceptable for me to pull out my vibrator right now. The two of you are HOT!”
“Sorry, sir…Daddy. I meant—your girl. Definitely your girl.”
“Keep looking at me like that and see what happens,”
“We’re never going to get to the party if you get anywhere near him right now. I’m riding the edge, baby. Let’s not try to kill me. I haven’t even felt your perfect cunt yet.”
“No. My dick is definitely a ‘he’ and has his own free will. I’ve always thought I had control…but since I met you.” He winked at me. “I’ve stopped trying to hold him back. I’m pretty sure I’ve had a non-stop erection since the moment I saw you.”
