Glancing at her from over his shoulder, he smirked. “I’m not lonely, darling. I have everything I want.” Shaking her head, she watched him scale the staircase until his dark hair disappeared behind the bend. That was his first lie.
“You need to learn how to fight. From now on, we train every day.”
But they also had swirling silver flecks in them, mirroring the pearly lock of hair that lay across his forehead. They were like a night sky brightened by a million stars. “Hi,” he whispered. “Hi,” she rasped, something surging inside her as she stared into his starry eyes.
