If Merrick smelled like wilderness, Loche smelled like brightness. Like a cold winter night when the huge moon and millions of stars lit up the sparkling snow.
She should be grateful she’d had such a beautiful childhood, but there was only pain whenever these memories surfaced.
“Don’t forget I can smell you, Lessia. And I know very well what that scent is.”
