She’d removed memories once… After that day she’d promised herself never to do it again.
Human and Fae males were more alike than they’d like to think. Grumpy bastards, all of them.
If Merrick smelled like wilderness, Loche smelled like brightness. Like a cold winter night when the huge moon and millions of stars lit up the sparkling snow.
He’d also changed, and even though he’d dressed in a simple ivory shirt and dark trousers, his pearlescent hair falling in waves over his shoulders, there was still an otherness radiating from him through his glamour.
A woman like you wants to be loved, deeply and without constraint, by someone who knows the true you and adores you all the same.”
“Lessia. You’re not there. You will never go back there. I won’t allow it,” Merrick urged.
“Tell me. Tell me you burn for me like I burn for you. Tell me your heart stops when I walk into a room like mine does for you. Tell me you can’t stop thinking about me like I can’t go a waking second without thinking about you. Tell me you don’t want me to stay away.”
“Neither am I, darling.” His lips brushed hers. “Let’s be bad together.”
“I’m not the begging type, Lessia. But if you need me to, I’ll get on my knees. I’m already risking everything. I don’t mind throwing my pride into the ring as well.”
“You’re Lessia. And you’re the most interesting woman I’ve ever had the honor to meet. You’re beautiful, and kind, and caring, and intelligent. And somehow, you seem to have an inkling of interest in me. I am not known to let opportunities pass me by, and I won’t do it with you. If I am lucky enough that the feelings I sense from you are true, I will always cherish them. I’ll do anything to keep them, fuel them, make them burn bright even in the darkest of winter.”
“I’ve wanted you for a long time, Lessia,” he whispered. “Longer than you can imagine.”
