“I passed the objective, right?” he whispered, kissing the shell of her ear and nudging her hand away to wipe her eyes. “I helped Venus Thibodeaux conquer her fear of love.” She smiled up at him, grabbing the back of his head as fireworks shot into the night sky. “Oh, Ant…I stopped being afraid of that the moment I laid eyes on you. It just took my brain some time to catch up.”
