The moment was too heavy, and Rosie couldn’t bear the weight of it. She gave Hart her goofiest smile. “You can’t do it because I’m your friend, and you luvs me.” “I do, you absolute asshole.” He picked up his teacup and took a delicate sip. “Again: you’re drinking tea at a bar. Who’s the asshole here?”
Rosie had zero romantic interest in the man, but those forearms could inspire sonnets.
In her experience, the foulmouthed tended to be honest and authentic.
“You are difficult to forget.” “Well, you could’ve fooled me.” “One does not forget a stunning woman with eyes like garnets.”
“I’ll wash these.” “Best partner ever,” he said, his whole body drooping with relief and exhaustion. “I’m telling Hart you said that.” “Best partner ever, tied with Hart.”
“Because I’d rather be stuck in here with you than stuck out there without you, you fucking asshole.”
