REVIEW:
An All-Star cast in a paranormal murder mystery thriller with the main character being a half-breed mid-level paracrime journalist with a talent for substantial investigative skills.
The author has some mad writing finesse as well.
Minimal content error and full of web-weaving who.dunnit intrigue.

Ok I thought this story was dull and irritating in the first half, but luckily i kept reading cuz the author did a masterful job of spinning an overly complicated tale and was still able to finesse all the loose ends tying this up into a beautifully handcrafted regal tapestry of words.

There were a lot of things I would have changed if I could go back forty-eight hours. Like ignoring the troll doll, calling the police when I saw Wilder stab that guy, and believing Jackson when he’d said no one was there. Another was following a demon hunter, who called himself a Natural, through the dark city streets while he carried my best friend over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.
Sounds alot like Torchwood.....

Next they should see At least one painting in the Gallery or Codex and it should be of a significant scene featuring a woman looking freakishly similar to Scarlett (down to the exact scar on her face!) with a purple light glowing and emanating from her hands, eyes, a sword and/or maybe even a simple circlet, also maybe with an amethyst or quartz gem in the center (over her Third Eye?!), that will be seen as a Prophesy with some bearing, giving just another reason for more angst and upheaval with Scarlett's personal existentialism cataclysm

Slow to start, but once all the pieces started coming together, it became a thrilling rush of suspense and mystery-- keeping me on the edge of my seat, to the end, once all the aspects finally aligned.

this story is the end all of the mystery thriller paranormal who.dunnits genres.

i think anything i read after this will be dull lifeless and without color.
this writing and the portrayal of the characters.... Surreal.

what a crazy rush of a ride this was .
a maze of twists and turns that even tho i was lost it all made sense and yet every ending always opened the door for the story to continue on even stronger.

Someone who doesn't know the region quite as well as they want people to believe which surprises me cuz the beginning description of the area and specific regional references were spot on except for only two points and one being a pretty significant and widely known name. The other was just flora details.
Nothing really. Just my local opinion is all.

I wasn’t sure about him. I wasn’t sure about anything. But I’d do what I always did — continue on. Because when it came down to the core of things, wasn’t that what we all had to do? Continue on in the face of daunting circumstances? Life was made up of challenges, and if we stopped growing, we might as well be dead. Deciding to rest in the knowledge that we had at least thwarted one plan to knock the world askew, I drew a long breath and let everything go.
REVIEW PT.2:
normally a big fan of the-more-details in a story -the-better, albeit in this instance it weighed me down, with an overbearance of tedium.
I dont know where this came from but it made me skip words, then pages when it became too much.
But no worries- it all worked out in the wash eventually and was a pretty decent tale.
I like where it ended and it didn't leave me feeling robbed or incomplete or frustrated like other poorly wrapped manuscripts.
Overall, i recommend this story to teen thru senior readers (like me).
Generous with the canons of the greek and norse gods along with a mass of many legendary monsters, demons- complete thru the fanciful fae and Gaia herself.
Great refresher of history and legend alike.

Stones clattered on the ground behind her, and…he waited. The thing was, he trusted her. She knew this world better than he did, and she knew what she was doing. He’d already seen evidence of that — although it was a good thing she hadn’t been alone when she ran into that snake. And it was a really good thing that he’d had some nasty ganga wounds to give the snake, right in its soft underbelly. He had Simon to thank for that unexpected weapon.
For ONCE in ANY fkkn story I've read in AGES--
someone actually LISTENS to another person and ACCEPTS THE FACTS that with their combined time and EXPERIENCE in a particular situation--
why, they just might know what they're talking bout and just might also be RIGHT.
And another thing that it's just bout time for,
is a character takin the obvious chip off his own shoulder and appreciating the tiny miracles that we're occasionally blessed with,
and just callin it GOOD ENOUGH,
and ROLL WITH IT.
Until the next episode of bullshit presents itself,
and process requiring mature development
repeats itself.
