“Well, maybe that was the first time you were told, but I know for a fact it wasn’t the first time someone liked you.”
But the thing is, Rio has always been good to his friends, has always had this innate way of loving and taking care of those important to him. One of his best characteristics is making those around him comfortable and welcomed, so a fully stocked coffee station for friends who are visiting makes perfect sense to me.
if anyone told me not to spend time with Stevie, I’d be quick to reevaluate that person’s importance in my life. I know you love your mom, we all love your mom, but you’re a grown-ass man now, Rio. At a certain point, our parents’ opinions can’t be more important than our own.”
“But you can’t kiss me because I want you to, and that seems dangerous.”
there is literally no reason they're not back together already. like it'll be a 5min conversation to fix their past issues and then they can move forward like they both wanna do. the "barriers" keeping them apart are non-existent
Are you still thinking about me? If she only knew. When I think of sex, I think of Hallie. She’s the only name that pops into my mind. Her face, her body, and her voice are the only things I visualize. She was my first. She taught me how to do it. We learned together by learning each other.
I think something that would have made this story much better is if they had both changed a lot since they were last together. maybe she's gained weight or developed a chronic/mental illness, maybe he's got new interests or an injury. then it would really be "do you still love me? CAN you still love me? we're so different then we were back then - does it matter?" there's just no depth to their separation
Writing REWIND IT BACK was the first time I wrote a book as a full-time author.
