To look upon the worst and see the best is true sight. To behold the whole and find no flaw, only then can one be right. —Love From a Blind Prince
“I know spirits scare you, even if you
don’t admit it. You’re right to be wary of them. So, I’ve found one who will take care of your soul.”
It’s such a rarity for him to be sober, but I know better than to fall for this ever-shrinking version of him.
Sometimes I wonder if anyone else understands what it’s like to feel both unconditional love and such deep hatred for the same person.
I want to learn about everything. Knowledge is an addiction, and books are my drug of choice.
It takes restraint not to sift through all her memories, because suddenly, that warm light is all I want. What a cruel little beast, for making me feel this way. She’s soaking in a bath of thick, concealing bubbles, her white hair draping over tan, wet shoulders.
Such a vicious little beast.
“Power corrupts those who touch it, especially people like me.” “Nizzara,“ he purrs, his voice an instant muscle relaxer. “I assure you, just because I am older, more experienced, and all around devilishly handsome, I would only corrupt you if you verbally consented to my corrupting.”
think of my rage that’s always near the surface. It is not my choice, and when that rage gets within reach of power . . . “I’ve seen monsters, Nizzara, and you are not one of them. A little beast maybe, but not a monster.”
“One does not become resilient under ideal conditions.”
“To look upon the worst and see the best is true sight.”
“To behold the whole and find no flaws, only then can one be right.” He whispers, “Love from a Blind Prince.”
Face your fear,” I say. “Otherwise, it will own you.”
“You are a cruel little beast,”
“She said a soft heart is only a liability when the mind is soft too.”
“He’s losing the battle with his bonded spirit!” Shadows sweep the corners of the room like snakes as they always seem to do around him.
“Your father is possessed. And once his spirit takes full control over him, you will have to end him.” His eyes bore into mine as he jabs his finger at my chest again. “You have to stop hiding from what you are.”
“Use your power or die, because you’ll die anyway if you can’t face who you are.”
“Rebels rise and food is stone. What was reaped shall be sown. Men of kingdoms turn to monsters of night. Three families fight out of sight. The soil turns red from blood and death. To deliver the king, she’ll give her last breath.”
A mind spread too thin is called mush, you know.”
“You may like nice girls, but your heart beats for hellions.”
Tassels scream, “Look at me! Give me attention!” The only thing I’d put tassels on is an ugly pet I keep forgetting to feed. Then at least the tassels would serve a purpose.
“I’ll remind you who you are.”
“I do. I want everything that has to do with you. I want your death glare pointed at me. I want that damn lip to myself. I want your black eyes and menacing hands all over me. Your smile. Your anger. Your tears. All of it.” He tucks a strand of my hair behind my ear. “And that’s why I can’t have any part of you.”
“When you have one enemy, you have one enemy, but when you have two enemies, you have one enemy and one distraction.”
“You will always be afraid of the dark part of yourself if you never face it.”
