Both anger and horniness wash through me. How dare he be so attractive?
“You’re ours, Jo. Ours to torment. Ours to fuck with. Ours to own. No one else fucking touches you.”
Her submission goes straight to my dick, and I harden fully. Fucking hell, this woman affects me by barely doing anything. I’m fucking ruined for her.
She won’t submit to me willingly. Right now. But I’m a patient man. I’ll break her down. She should probably keep trying to hide from me. Because once I have her heart, I’ll never give it back. Even if she begs.
“I’ll be your everything, Jo. I’ll be the air you fucking breathe. And every time you forget it, I’ll remind you of it.” His voice lowers, “You can’t live without us. We won’t let you.”
Cole yanks my door open, and heat rushes into the car. He’s holding a handful of flowers from the side of the road. “Is this what you want, Jo?” Cole cocks his head. “You want a man who will give you flowers? Be home at five every night, ask for sex once a week, and otherwise ignore you?”
“No, I don’t think that’s what you want at all. I think you like the push and pull. The anger, the hate. I think you love it. I think it makes you feel alive.” Cole’s blue eyes spark with fire and excitement. He snaps his hand out, grabs the leash attached to the collar, and wraps it around his fist. He yanks me even closer to him, smashing my face into his and putting immediate pressure on my neck. “I think you want to be owned and forced, Jo. I think that’s what gets you going. So stop pretending like you don’t like it and stop saying that you’ll run, ‘cause I’ll never let you run again.”
I try to pretend Mom not being here doesn’t hurt—like her not being here for my whole childhood doesn’t hurt. I hate her. I’ll never give another woman the power to leave me again.
I know I’m going to pay for trying to get away, and Jayden is going to enjoy every second of it. He might even kill me. Somehow, I’m sure they’ll make it hot.
“You don’t get to say no. You don’t get to call the shots. We do. We’ll take care of you. We’ll fight your battles. We’ll feed you, clothe you, bathe you, fucking hell, breathe for you. Stop fighting us.”
“Fuck, Jo. I’ll reverse this vasectomy and pump you so full of my cum that I’ll put another baby in this belly. Then you can never leave me.” I suck in a gasp, pain filling my chest. Our baby. Everyone in the car stills. Cole leans over me, his voice cracked, eyes still wild. “I wanted that baby, Jo. I didn’t care if it was Jayden’s or mine; it was ours, and I wanted it. I’ve spent the last six months missing someone I never knew.”
That stupid warmth rolls across me again. It’s fucked up that I enjoy it when people care, even if their “caring” is a giant red flag.
“Look at me,” Cole demands, his tone harsh. I glance up. Cole’s eyes soften. “I promise I’ll never get tired of you. And if I do, you can stab me with that knife under your pillow. I’m not a liar, Jo. You’re the first woman I’ve ever been interested in.”
“I’ll chase you to the ends of the earth, Jo. Please stop hiding from me.” Then, even softer, “I need you.”
Cole leans into me. “Don’t look now. Our neighbors are watching.” “What?” I try to look back, but Cole grabs my chin and yanks me back to him. His voice gets angry, “My eyes only when we’re fucking Jo. Don’t you fucking dare give anyone else that sexy look. That belongs to me and Jayden.”
