The Church Is the Sarx—the Exzemed Body of Christ “Unless you eat my flesh, you cannot have life within you.” When Jesus says this, as we have already seen, he is referring to his sarx, his flawed, exzemed body, as it is met in the community of believers and he is mandating that we must also deal with this if we wish to deal with God.
