Saying the words out loud provided finality, a bittersweet relief he hadn’t felt the day before. There’s nothing worse than the in-between, the purgatory of not moving in any direction.

“I think you’ve been holding in a lot of your feelings. And when we hold on to feelings, they manifest in strange ways.”
