“Call me Cal.” She tucks a piece of her dark hair behind her ear. “You said at dinner to call you Callahan.” “I didn’t say that to you. You can call me Cal.”
My head falls back as I let out a loud whine. “I don’t know. Because it still feels like I shouldn’t take a job from my ex’s brother. What if Oliver visits?” “Then you poison his food.”
“I hope it doesn’t ruin your day if we lose. I’m a horrible golfer.” My fingers twitch against her back as I guide her to one of the staff members helping coordinate the event. “I get to spend the day with you. My day could never be ruined.”
“Don’t talk about my brother when I’m seconds away from finally kissing you after I’ve been thinking about doing it for days…maybe even weeks.”
“I want to buy you expensive things, Lucy. What’s the point in having an ungodly amount of money if I can’t spend it on the first woman to capture my attention like this?”
“Just so you know, anything with you is my thing. Haven’t you learned that by now?” He reaches up and tucks a piece of my hair behind my ear. “I can’t get enough of you.”
“I love him,” I blurt, sitting straight up in my chair. It’s so old it creaks because of the sudden movement. Jude fist pumps in the air, letting out a long whistle. “Yes, Luce, you do. Now, hang up the damn phone and call him.” “Call him!” Charlotte interjects before she excitedly gives Jude a high five.
