Jesus said, “The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify against it that its works are evil” (John 7:7). We need to be careful not to rush past this. It’s all too easy to hear this simple sentence as religious jargon and move on without a moment’s thought. Let’s not do that. What was Jesus really saying here?
