No one would take Blue from this earth while I still breathed.
This was the way’a the world I’d chosen to live in. This was how to settle the hearts’a broken men. With violence and retribution for any wrong.
“Bones,” she murmured, tears floodin’ those pretty blue eyes, vibrant even in the lowlight’a the porch security floodlight. “You came.” “Told you I’d burn down the world for you, Blue,” I reminded her, duckin’ to press a kiss to her bloody mouth. “Nothin’ and no one could keep me from my girl.”
“Even when death comes for us one day, I promise, I’ll be waitin’ for you on the other side,”
“Set the monsters on fire,”
“If I gotta go to hell and back, fight the fuckin’ devil himself, sacrifice every one’a my sins or my life itself, I’ll do it. You think you’re more trouble than you’re worth, but you gotta understand, I’ve always been the kinda man who’s not afraid to ask for trouble if it’s worth the effort, and there’s no doubt in my mind keepin’ you safe and loved is worth it all.”
I didn’t even realize how lonely I still was ’til I saw your colour blue and knew I needed it brightenin’ my life.”
“The kinda love I got for you is electric. It lights up my soul and vibrates my bones. I can’t fucking live without it. Without you,” Aaron whispered in my ear before kissing my neck. “Never wanna know what it’s like to go back to a life without your light.”
Bones and Blue.
Know you’ll just be more and more beautiful to me as I fall deeper in love with ya.”
He loved me enough to burn down the world for me, and I loved him enough to trust he’d keep me safe even when the monsters came back to haunt us.
“Want you to be my wife more than I’ve ever wanted anythin’ else,” he admitted. “Not just ’cause you’re hot as shit.” He grinned when I laughed wetly. “But ’cause you make me feel seen straight through to my bones and the kinda love we share electrifies my life. So, Blue baby…” He dropped to his knee, and I went with him, unwilling to allow the space between us. His smile was brighter than the huge sapphire ring he pulled from the black shopping bag and presented to me. “Will you marry me?”
