“Because the way you ghosted me isn’t how you treat someone you like too much.”
Her eyes shut, and I focus on the hypnotic motions of her mouth. She was born with lips meant to be kissed,
To torment me some more, she runs a single finger back up my chest, and I fail to suppress my shiver. “I can tell we’re going to have fun together.” Her voice has a husky rasp to it. “This isn’t supposed to be fun,” I hiss, thinking of why I’m doing all of this to begin with.
Truth is I could watch her complete the most menial tasks, like trimming flowers or reviewing invoices, and never get bored. There’s too much about her that interests me, from the delicate way she curls ribbons or organizes wrapping paper to the amusing furrow she gets between her brows whenever she has to do inventory counts.
slam the hood shut and walk over to her side of the car. “In you go.” She steps onto the platform and climbs into the SUV. I reach behind her chair for the seat belt and clip it in place before tugging on the strap.
Her shoes are beyond impractical for the amount of walking we’ll have to do, but they’ll force her to rely on me for stability as we walk across the grassy parking lot, so I won’t be complaining. On the contrary, I’ll buy a pair in every color to encourage such behavior.
