Descartes’ method is analytic. It consists in breaking up thoughts and problems into pieces and in arranging these in their logical order.

This is very much what I did in spectral learning. Decomposing a photo into many spectral features and then reassembling them in search for meaningful patterns. But my method is not reductionist. It is rather based on Simulation theorem. Reductionism without simulation is destructive.
