God, I really hoped she was gay. That would be amazing. Move to a new town. Find a hot girl. Who was a literal witch. Perfect.
Was she queer, or was she just magical? Although a lot of times, it felt like the same thing.
The waitstaff at every café and diner I’d ever eaten at deserved an award and a thank-you note sealed with kitten kisses.
I fought the smile pulling my lips up at the way she said “us.” As if after one date, we were already a couple. As if there were an “us” after a single kiss. God, I loved women. In two more dates, I would be ready to adopt a cat with her.
Saturday felt like an eternity instead of just two days away, and I had been racking my brain for ways to see her before then. “Maybe it is,” she admitted. The giddy gay cheerleader in my chest was doing cartwheels as Jordyn’s cheeks dimpled. “In the least clingy, super-casual way possible, I wanted to see you sooner.”
Fuck. Maybe I should book the U-Haul now . . .
I wished I knew how she made comfortable clothing look so damn good.
“We’ve taken it pretty slow. I mean, I don’t even know what names you have picked out for our future kids yet. We have a lot of ground to cover.” That earned me a full belly laugh and a poke to the ribs. “Should I book the U-Haul?”
Wife. Sweet Goddess, the word felt so good.
