The next man to ask me what I’m doing after work is getting stabbed. Violently and repeatedly.
Jill will love me, crave me, breathe me. She’ll feel me rooted so deeply inside her she won’t know where her soul ends and mine begins. She’ll be for me. Just like I am for her.
She’s got a body a man could sink into and get lost in.
Because I know Jill. I know her past, I own her present, and I am her future.
“Because when I’m not with you, there’s an itching in my veins that only the sight of you can fix.” I blink at him, processing his words. That wasn’t the answer I was expecting, and I’m not sure how to feel about it. “You’re not just trying to get into my pants?” I ask skeptically. I’m not buying it. “I never said that.” “You’re attracted to me,” I state as his hungry gaze sweeps over me. “Like you wouldn’t fucking believe,” he says, standing from his chair. The sexual desire radiates off him and thickens the air around us. “If you don’t have a god complex, I’ll give you one.”
“Then I kissed you. Kissing you will be my reason for living until I fuck you.”
“You like that I follow you, watch you, want you. You feed off my attention, my need. It makes you want, makes you hot—makes you wet. And I’m the only one who can give you what you need. Isn’t that right, little devil?”
“You think you can handle all of me? I’m a lot of woman.” “Let’s get one thing clear.” He inches closer to tower over me, his eye contact deeply intentional. “You’re my warmup weight, Jill, so watch that pretty little mouth of yours and remember who you’re talking to. We’re made for each other. I’m the only man who will ever be able to handle you the way you deserve to be handled.” His eyes dip lower, trailing down my body like a caress. “All of you.”
I’m not a religious man, but watching Jill come is as close as I’ll ever get to heaven.
She’s the salvation to my damnation, and I will worship at her altar in every lifetime.
“Look again, little devil.” His words take me by surprise. “There’s not a single chair in my club that can’t handle all of you. Not anymore.”
“I’m not having anything in my club, or anywhere else, that isn’t designed for you, Jill. You’re gonna have to think of another excuse if you want to avoid me, and I don’t plan on making it easy for you. Now come here.”
It’s the prettiest color red I’ve ever seen—deep, rich, and all mine. “It’s so pretty.” “I’m going to look so fucking good on you.” “You already do.”
“Love you? From the second I laid eyes on you, there has been an itching in my veins that only the sight of you can ease. Without you, the world has no art, and I have no purpose.” I swallow hard against his hand, the breath halting in my chest as his words seep into my bones. “I don’t just love you, Jill. I worship you. I bleed you. I am for you.”
“You know what the only consolation in all of this is? That you had it. You finally got what you really wanted in the deepest part of you. You had me. Because I fell for you, so hard, and so completely—without abandon. I fell for you in ways you could have only dreamed about. You had me.” The malice in my tone is almost palpable. “And now, that’s gone. Done. You’ll go the rest of your life knowing exactly what it felt like to have everything you wanted and then lose it. Forever.”
“We’re forever, Jill. There’s no getting rid of me. Even if you kill me right now, my soul will find yours in every lifetime. I’m your shadow under a never-setting sun.”
With this woman, I can do anything. For this woman, I will do anything.
