Throughout Scripture, Yahweh’s willingness to continue to work with “the few who get it” forces Israel to constantly rethink its own theology of salvation. It becomes a token of God’s own faithfulness: “In your midst I will leave a humble and lowly people; those who remain will seek all their refuge in Yahweh” (Zephaniah 3:12).
