“Did I burn you?” I whispered. Samkiel didn’t even open his eyes. He just wrapped his hand around the back of my neck and said, “Burn me alive if you must. I’d gladly die by your kiss.”

“Time itself cannot touch it. Death cannot separate it. It is the most powerful force in the world, far outweighing any crown or throne. Immeasurable. Inescapable. All-consuming. I’m honestly not the least bit shocked.” Dianna smiles at him before popping me on my shoulder. “It’s his fault! He keeps saying pretty words and distracting me,” she hissed.
