I parked my car and stepped out as an old man walked by. Stopping in his tracks, he looked at me quizzically, grinned, and cried, “Cherilyn Southall? Is that you? Well, damn, girl, you all grown up!” To this day, I have no idea who he was. He wasn’t family, just someone who remembered me being in that tiny place as a kid.
