This book is meant to be sweet, with just enough drama, angst, and tension to keep you turning pages, but here’s a list of triggers you might encounter: Confrontational male that doesn’t respect boundaries Attempted assault & sexual harassment (not from main characters & brief) Adult language Sexually explicit scenes Brief mention of parental death Brief discussion of parental abandonment Brief discussion of brother being arrested Attempted kidnapping (brief and with no violence against women)
“Thank you,” I say, finally getting a good look at the man who helped me. He’s gorgeous. Sandy blonde hair that’s got just a little wave to it. Tan skin, a firm jaw, lean and muscular at the same time. And his smell! He may not be able to scent me, but I can scent him. And he smells like all of my happiest dreams. He smells like ocean breezes with a hint of something tropical… coconut or pineapple? No, maybe it’s kiwi. He smells like long, lazy afternoons on the beach, eating fresh fruit, telling secrets, stretched out with the sun on my back, gentle waves lulling me into a sleepy comfort.

“Harrison’s their pack alpha. He’s… intimidating. But he’s always treated me like I’m his sister and not just Ellis’s. He doesn’t like most people though,” she muses.
“Dante is Ellis’s bonded,” Em goes on. “He’s their team captain, and I swear he must work out all the time because the man is ripped.” She shakes her head and smiles. “My brother is lucky, but now that you’ve met Ellis, you can probably tell. He has a charm about him that people can’t resist.”
“Then, there’s McQuinn, Nils, and Ozren. McQuinn is the most talkative of the group. He’s fun. Has a bit of a temper though—don’t play monopoly with him. I learned that the hard way last Christmas. And he’ll totally ask you the exact time and place you were born so he can get your sun, moon, and rising signs.”
“Nils is probably my favorite. He knows the best coffee shops in any city, but calls iced coffee an abomination.” She scoffs. Em is a devout worshiper of a large, iced, dirty chai. Personally, I prefer tea. I grab a handful of pub mix and pop a few pretzels in my mouth as she continues. “He’s studying to be a doctor of some sort once the Olympics are over. Nils is quieter than the other guys, but trust me, the man is always watching and listening. Oh—” She bounces in her seat as she points to an attractive man in the corner. “See that guy over there? Nils looks a bit like that guy. His mom’s

“Then, we’ve got Ozren. All muscles and tattoos. He’s bound to hit on you, but don’t take the bait. He’s a heartbreaker, and, from what I hear, a bit feral in the bedroom. But he’s pretty harmless as long as you don’t step on his shoes. Literally. The guy is real particular about his sneakers.”
“Oh em gee, is everyone alright?” Ava, Harrison’s beta girlfriend, steps around him into the room, her face scrunched in mock concern. Her high heels are even pointier than normal, and they make an annoying click on the floor. I’m so riled up I want to rip them off her feet and throw them at something. “What the hell is she doing here?” She’s not pack. No matter how much she wants to be. Harrison has been saying he’ll break up with her for a year, but here she is, inserting herself into our affairs like a splinter in my ass.
I get that Harrison is repelled by most people’s scents. I get that it’s rare for him to find someone sexually attractive. I get that Ava is an exception to the norm. But why the fuck can’t he see what the rest of us see in her? She’s manipulative and two-faced and the sooner he breaks up with her, the better.
Lately, we’ve all been doing a lot of things without each other. It’s like the pack is fracturing down the middle. Harrison, alone in his study or with Ava. Ellis and Dante, doing their own thing. McQuinn, brooding around somewhere. Oz, always off picking up random women.
Why do authors always insist on writing manwhores. It’s like the world will end if at least one of the guys isn’t a manwhore
“Then we’ll—” He cuts off and snaps his head to a younger alpha covered in tattoos and whispering in the ear of a beta at the back of the group. “Oz! Keep your hands to yourself.” His pack mate glares at him, but there’s a smirk on his lips. “You got it, coach.”
Ew was this necessary. What did this honestly bring to the book other than getting the readers to think he’s a walking STD
Besides, I’d never commit myself to someone the rest of my pack doesn’t like, and I know how they all feel about Ava. I don’t want to string her along, so I’ve tried to make my stance on marriage and bonding clear to her, but she doesn’t seem to listen. I think she believes she can change my mind, convince me she’s the one. She’s even started being extra nice to my pack mates in an attempt to win them over. It won’t work, though. At least, not on all of them.
You have been stringing her along for a year apparently. What’s the point of being with her if you know it’s not going anywhere and you can’t even stand her? Just more pointless unnecessary OW drama
She pouts in an entirely unattractive way. I wince. I don’t mean to be harsh with her, but she’s been grating on my nerves more and more lately. To soften the blow, I add, “I’ll call you later.”
THEN WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU WITH HER STILL!? I would absolutely HATE to be with someone who couldn’t even stand me….im sure Ava doesn’t care cuz she’s obviously not a good person but damn, what’s that say about you bro
She has no scent. And no desire to flirt. The other girls are laughing at my jokes while we put on our caps and go over our play for the first quarter. Two of them can’t stop touching me every chance they get. I like the attention, but there’s nothing like a challenge. And Meggie Harper is a challenge.
“Stop thinking with your dick.” Oz comes out from behind the refrigerator door just long enough to punch my shoulder. “Like you’re much better.” I saw the way he looked at Meggie. He might want Jackie on the team because she’s the better player, but he wants Meggie in his bed. Which is exactly why he doesn’t want her on the team. Keep the personal away from the professional. He takes the exact opposite approach to Dante and me. Oz only gets together with people he's likely to never see again.
I go in for a kiss on the cheek, but she turns her head fast enough to pull me into a full kiss. Her hand slides down my chest to my dick, and I hate that the appendage responds when I catch a whiff of her graham cracker scent. I pull her away. “We should get inside.” When we get back to the auditorium, my pack takes one look at Ava at my side, and disperses. I try not to roll my eyes. It’s no secret the guys don’t like Ava. I was drawn to her because her scent was one of the few that I found appealing. Finding sexual partners isn’t easy for me because of my smell preferences, and more often

I would have already broken up with Ava if I wasn't concerned it would mean never finding another sexual partner. I'm not an overly sexual person, but I don't relish the idea of going without sex for the rest of my life. And considering how rare it is for me to be sexually attracted to someone, it's a valid concern.
That’s seriously the reason why you haven’t broken up with her yet, cuz you’re afraid you won’t find someone else to get your dick wet….wow just wow.
Or maybe the way Nils kept watching her like he wanted to do unspeakable things to her. I hated him looking at her like that. Hated and loved it. I’ve never seen him look at a woman that way. I know he’s bi, like me, but I also know he’s never been with a woman. The thought of him with Meggie has me both hard and angry.
And Oz… I’ve never seen him work so hard to sleep with a woman, or get rejected so many times. It’s comical, really. The poor guy is blue balling it hard. He hasn’t been with anyone else either. Not since Meggie moved in. He’s never gone this long without sex.
Having her reject me so quickly feels like shit. I don’t understand why she keeps pushing me away. I know I’m not repellant. Women are usually more than willing to hook up with me. And I saw the way Meggie looked at me while we danced, felt how her body responded to me, even if I couldn’t smell her arousal the way I can with other women. She was into it, so what the fuck? Why’d she shove me away?
God forbid she just isn’t interested, not every female needs to be spreading their legs for you just cuz you want them to 🙄
“Ellis? Really?” Oz grumbles. “He’s the one who got her first?” “Hey.” I slap him upside the head. “That’s my bonded you’re talking about.” Oz holds up his palms. “Nothing against Ellis, man. He’s just not usually the one to get the girls.” He tilts his head. “And don’t you two have a no one outside the pack agreement?” Harrison surprises us all by saying, “Meggie’s pack.” “But only until the Olympics, right?” Oz looks at our pack alpha for confirmation. He doesn’t reply, just walks over to the kitchen and starts pulling eggs and fruit out of the fridge. Nils follows him, the two of them

Oz is so gross. It’s called she actually has a connection with him. You just expect her to fall all over you cuz you stripped naked and bullied your way into her ‘date’
“I’m not sexually attracted to Meggie, but I’d rather have her in my pack than you.” The words are cold. Colder than I intended. Ava recoils. “This is the end, isn’t it?”
Almost 70% in and one of the main guys isn’t sexually attracted to the FMC…..plus it’s kinda irritating that it took this long to break up with her
But she stayed as far away from Ellis and Dante as possible. Oz still seemed pissed that Meggie had been with Ellis and kissed Dante, but not him. He turns into a bastard when he’s jealous and takes it out on all of us.
Wrapping my legs around him, I pull him in, all the way to his swelling knot. My moan is long and loud. “So good. Oz, you feel so fucking good.”
What no condom talk for Mr. STD? Shocker 🙄 we get the condom talk with the guys that are in a committed relationship but not the guy that sleeps with anything with a hole…
