“My twat is a fine article of faith!” snarled Vigga, spraying spit into the fire and making Alex flinch.
Baron Rikard sighed. “People can confide in me without fear of judgement. I am a vampire. I leave the moral adjudications to those…” And he waved lazily at the monk. “With less capacity for reason and more for hypocrisy.”
“What do you lead with?” asked Alex. Vigga slid one foot across the deck until her legs were wide open, displaying the slightly stained crotch of her trousers.
And he had been deeply impressed, not only by her immaculate bearing but, to his surprise, by her humility. Not a quality he had previously much celebrated, but he could not help noticing how, by making so little of her status, her status was only enhanced.
