An angry person violates the positive commandment to “Rebuke your fellow man.” He can’t fulfill this mitzvah properly, since the Torah says, “And you shall not carry a sin for him”—rebuke must initially be delivered in a soft and gentle manner. If a person rebukes in a loud, angry tone, he is transgressing this commandment. Furthermore, the person being rebuked will not be able to accept the rebuke and will instead stubbornly persist in his ways, as is human nature.
