“Wear navy,” he said, in a voice that brooked no argument. “Above the knee. We want to make a lasting impression on the younger Donahue, now, don’t we?”

“Three,” he whispered. He was being an idiot, baiting her this way. “Two.” But something had to give, and it wouldn’t be him. “One.” A door slammed upstairs. The subsequent gut punch he felt wasn’t entirely due to anger, and that infuriated him the most.

“Don’t take her calls. Don’t answer her texts.” Reed laughed. “Fat chance of that, dickwad. If Vivienne contacts me, I’ll be there. I’m not about to ghost her just because you’ve got a crush.”

Reed opened his mouth as though to argue and then shut it again, contemplating Thomas through the window. “You know what I think?” he finally asked. “I think you’re grasping. I think something happened between you and Walsh, and you’re freaking out.”
Thinzar ~( ˘▾˘~)
How did he come to that conclusion? Walsh isn't even in the conversation for the operation. This is freaking ridiculous

He’d never been able to tear open the skies. That was Colton Price’s forte. He could only step through an existing opening—feel that stale, suffocating pop of nothingness, and then emerge onto the other side.
Thinzar ~( ˘▾˘~)
Dude this books a fucking fever dream. He just casually drops that he can step into an opening sky???! What the fuck are we actually talking about? We're 15 mins away from ending the book and suddenly he has had some supernatural power this whole entire time? What in the actual fuck are you talking about, Ms. Author?

It concentrated her own nightmarish abilities, brought Thomas’s into overdrive. In his fury, he’d shouldered through worlds. He’d shattered the skies for her.
Thinzar ~( ˘▾˘~)
It literally does not make sense. So Thomas is an ordinary boy or not? Throughout this whole book, Thomas does not have any super natural ability other than that he smells of death and he is somehow not effected by Viv's voice. And we never learned WHAT he is. Like is he ordinary or not? And i bet my fucking ass that in the next 5/10 of this book, there isn't gonna be a single explaination for this.

“I’m pretty sure it’s from a poem,” he said, angling his arm to better see the ink. “Everyone in my fraternity has one. It was a mandatory part of initiation. That, and the occasional reconnaissance mission through gaps in the sky.”
Thinzar ~( ˘▾˘~)
Dafuq? So you're telling me the frat was some psychic/occult club who astroplane to different dimensions? When the fuck was that information ever mentioned or even slightly hinted? In the last 5 mins of the book, "Oh yeah, the frat Thomas was in is no ordinary frat. They're a psychic group" Im fuckung done with y'all
