It’s a whole other experience seeing Jack shirtless with sweat glistening on his hard, toned body.
read over it, stomach swirling with that anxious feeling I can’t seem to shake any time I think about the next step in my life.
I sort of fell into it while taking art classes. At some point, I was forced to pick a major and I couldn’t think of anything else I’d rather do.
My body tingles. Jesus, I really need to have sex. I cannot be fantasizing about Jack.
“Hello,” I answer, smiling already. “How many times do I have to tell you, I am not helping you hide a body,” she says with a firm tone, then laughs. “Kidding.
“Umm…condoms?” “Ooh. I see. So it’s a serious cry for help.” Her soft laughter returns.
“It’s fine. Hi, Ash.” “Hey, Little Sharpie.” “Any words of advice? You used to date around. Ever hit a dry spell?” “It was all a dry spell before Bridget,” he says.
“I don’t want someone great. I want great sex.” I’ve always been able to separate sex from relationships,
“You tell your friends how great I am at making you come, right?”
There are so many things I love about Bridget, but her sincerity and the seriousness in which she takes my cry for help makes me adore her that much more.
Because the guy across the yard—the one I definitely should not be ogling—has other ideas in my head.
Like he hasn’t been checking her out at every opportunity. I know because I was trying very hard not to do the same.
Not that I care. Because she’s Everly. Off-limits for so many reasons. Not that my dick seems to have gotten the memo.
I’m not usually prone to violence off the ice, but my heart is pumping as my fingers curl into fists like I’m preparing to go at it with a member of the opposing team.
I don’t want him or anyone else near her and I’m ready to throw down.
Annoyance prickles down my spine. He leans forward, talking and laughing. And she smiles back like she’s just as thrilled.
“We should go sometime. I’d love to take you. Here, let me give you my number.” Before she can agree or object, I cut in. “I think it’s time for you to go, Brian.”
As I open the door for him, I say, “Don’t bother coming back tomorrow.” He opens his mouth to protest, but then thinks better of it. “I’m sorry it didn’t work out. Give me a call if you change your mind.”
“You don’t seem like you’re in a very good mood for company.” “He asked you out,” I say as if that explains it. “Yeah. So?”
“I get the unprofessional part, but how exactly was it rude?” “You’re my guest and he could have made you uncomfortable.”
“Or fuck, maybe not. You can probably still catch him if you want to grab some sushi and listen to him talk about himself. Knock yourself out.” She’s quiet as she studies me for so long
“As if you are going to let me go out with him,” she says with amusement lacing her tone. “I don’t care who you go out with.” Lies. “Right.” She laughs
“I get it. Ty isn’t here so you have to go all big brother on me.” Wait. What? Did she just refer to me as her brother?
I just want to know when she’ll be here. I like having a plan. The uncertainty has me doing something I would never do.
“If you don’t have plans, we could grab dinner.” The surprise plays over her face like a slideshow. Mouth agape, eyes wide, cheeks flushed.
“All right. Sure.” I hesitate. I’m not at all confident I heard her right. She’s never this agreeable. “What do you want to eat?” she asks. There’s a sudden rush of lust and anticipation thrumming through me.
“This is better than sushi.” Ev grins before taking another bite. Each
With all the food places to pick from, Ev chose pizza from a little shop
but her response is all sass. “More like ranting to them about you.” A small laugh rumbles in my chest. “Now that I believe.”
She drops the cold pack in my lap, narrowly missing my balls. “Thanks,” I say dryly. “Sorry. Gotta work on those reflexes.”
“We went out last night.” Her tone is casual, but she struggles to meet my gaze. Interesting.
“Actually, I don’t think I’ve seen you with anyone in a while. Dry spell?” “I’m not exactly in any shape to date right now.” “I wasn’t talking about dating.” She laughs again,
ways that just makes me feel safer in my crush. There’s no way he would ever reciprocate so what’s the harm in checking him out?
nearly emptying the bottle, and then splashes the rest on me.
bet swimming would be good for your knee.” “Did you get that from your pal Bridget?”
Our legs and chests are close and silently we stare at each other with two feet of distance separating us. My heart rate picks up
“I really want to dunk you right now,” I say. “But I'm afraid I’ll hurt you.” His mouth pulls into a disbelieving smirk. “As if you could hurt me, Little Sharpie.”
He never calls me that. Ash, Declan, Leo, and some of the other guys have been using that endearment for me since I was eighteen, but Jack n...

When he flings it back, the long strands hang in his eyes. He runs a hand through it to slick it back out of his face. He misses one strand and I move forward,
He’s strong and I’m no match for him. We wrestle and splash. I’m squealing and laughing, and he’s got one of his rare smiles splashed across his face.
“You’re going to regret that, old man.” “Old man?” He barks out a laugh. “I’m taking it easy on you.” “Please don’t,” he says. The playfulness in his expression morphs
His dark blue eyes swirl with some undecipherable emotion.
The top of my thigh wedges between his legs and rubs against his crotch. It happens so fast. A slight brush against his dick. His hard dick.
I’m not usually confused by this kind of thing, but the contact is there and then gone so quickly that I’m not certain. Maybe he’s just really big. My face flames hot, but curiosity gets the better of me.
fit into the spot between his legs, once again making contact with his crotch. I inhale sharply when I confirm my suspicion. His dick is hard. He reads it on my face, my surprise,
“It can’t be that bad.” “Bad enough that James is threatening to come back early if I don’t start replying to some.”
“James responds to the things he can, but I’ve always handled my own schedule. I don’t want someone signing me up for events or making those calls for me.” I fight a smile.
I like that about him, even if it is one of the reasons we butt heads so often. Jack has built an amazing career and he’s hands-on with every detail.
while juggling a career and businesses on the side, he still manages to be someone his teammates, friends, and family...

His email is up and my eyes widen when I see there are over nine hundred unread emails.
