But I hadn’t missed her watching me like a hawk during camp. As if suggesting I give Luca a ride without having a booster seat made me dangerous to every child at the practice.
“The color reminds me of your eyes. It felt like it was meant to be.” My gaze jerked to him. “My eyes?” “Turquoise. Like the Caribbean Sea. Could find a world of peace in those eyes.”
Part of me hoped the sky would open, and a lightning bolt would take me out. It would be so much easier.
