“The most powerful creatures in existence united at last,” I replied with a dark smile. “May the gods have mercy on anyone who dares stand against us now.”
“But I will kneel for you anywhere, my love,” he swore. “You are the only goddess I will devote myself to now.”
“Strip for me and I will worship you with pain and pleasure. Submit to me tonight and let me show you the power you can reap from me in that submission.”
“Offering you the world apparently. If you want it?” He held his hand out to her and her lips parted as she stared up at him. The moment hung between them endlessly and I shifted in Magnar’s arms, worried she was about to turn him down. “I want it,” Clarice breathed, placing her hand in his.
“I am not your pawn, I am not a slave to your curse and my name is not Erik Larsen. I am Erik Belvedere, Andvari. And I am your death.”
“I thought I was waiting for that, rebel, but I wasn’t. I was waiting for you. I was waiting for a love so fierce it thwarted even death. There’s no boundary, no realm on Earth or otherwise that I wouldn’t cross to find you. And if there’s a life after this, I’ll find you there, and again and again.”
Live well twins of Sun and Moon. Your sacrifices won’t have been for naught.
The sun and the moon. Light and dark in perfect balance. Two sisters bound forever in an endless dusk and dawn.
