Night of the Long Knives
The gloves come off unleashing bloodshed, treachery and murder, a precursor to the years to come in Adolf Hitler's Germany. I am shocked and saddened to see so many comparing our latest President Donald J. Trump to Hitler. Why? I wondered how the Germans were so blind and now I see the same today except it is Trump and conservatives being villainized instead of the Jews (all whites are proclaimed to be White Supremacists). Anyone wearing a MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN Tee-shirt or Hat risks violent assault. I used to spend hours trying to convince others of the truth that it is the Liberal Left in groups like Antifa that pose the threat of violence. To be sure there is no group that is immune that does not have a few rogue characters, but if you look at the majority of the violence in the streets it is being waged by those who even want to overturn a duly-elected president by whatever means necessary who justify violence and any means necessary.
As I was saying - I have spend countless hours trying to have a conversation and a fact-based debate about the state of our world and government today. But I have learned that it is a waste of time because the Left does not argue facts they only kick and scream and yell and throw things, (and in the extreme riot, loot and burn). I have learned I cannot convince any of the crowd with eyes squeezed tightly shut (which match their ears which are tightly plugged).
I see the Democrats' position is OPPOSITION, they are trying to accomplish nothing except to OPPOSE unification. They can't tolerate the words "Make America Great Again" they are too busy screaming and yelling accusations of White Supremacy and damning America. They make me tired, they make me sad, and too much of the time I am terrified that this is the world I brought my children into, an unsafe, mad and demented world where one is not allowed to love their Homeland.
Its odd to think that Hitler and Trump do have one definite thing in common: both professed a passionate desire to serve and protect their Homeland. Hitler was born in Austria but he chose to view Germany as his home which he professed to love and to wish to rescue. Trump is native-born to the United States; he also professes to love his homeland. There the similarity ends because Hitler chose violence as a means to an end and I do not see the same in Trump no matter how vociferously the media spins its propaganda against President Trump. It seems to me that the Liberals and Democrats are willing to destroy our country rather than "allow" anyone with a view different from theirs to have their say. What we need, perhaps, is another man with the Wisdom of Solomon who saw that the woman who would allow the child to be killed (swiftly divided in two with a stroke of the sword) was the imposter and not the mother.
My opinion is democrats are hypocrites who change the rules to suit themselves. When Obama was in power his unconstitutional DACA proclamation was A-OK with them. But now with Trump's presidency even his constitutional orders are swiftly overturned by Liberal Ninth Circuit Judges overstepping their authority much to the applause of the democrats. The liberal media aids and abets these assaults on freedom: if its not on the 6 o'clock news or in the morning paper then IT DIDN'T HAPPEN according to them.
Interesting, on the subject of DACA and immigration, none of the
democrats can explain why Obama didn't FIX immigration once and forall
when democrats were majority in both houses. It's only now they are
obsessed with "fixing" immigration. Americans aren't allowed to have
Dreams if Liberals get their way. What kind of madness turns people
against their own country in favor of intruders? Why do democrats who
sleep behind locked doors seem determined to deprive Americans of any
sort of lock to protect our borders?
I will be dead and gone when History makes its final judgment, if the
world of Homo Sapiens hasn't self-destructed by then. As for the
present, the rhetoric and arguments continue about who the good guys are
but after seeing the disgraceful, sour pusses of the democrats on last
nights 2018 State of the Union Address by President Trump I'm more
convinced than ever, I'M RIGHT.
I don't identify though as a Republican, I identify as my father's daughter (he served proudly in the Navy during one of the "Great World Wars" who loved both flag and country where his immigrant parents embraced a challenge, a chance at a new life far away from everything that had been familiar.
I wonder what he'd think if he were to come back today. Other times I think I'm glad he doesn't have to see the mess we've made of things. What would he say
about my brother and I, that due to our differing beliefs the lifelong
relationship between the two of us has been severed probably forever. We are
alienated, having not spoken for years; we have no idea whether the other is alive or dead.
I don't see the situation changing: sad but true blood and family is not thicker than water after all.
ANOTHER BOOK I RECOMMEND ON THE SUBJECT:
In the Garden of Beasts: Love, Terror, and an American Family in Hitler's Berlin by Erik Larson
U.S. Ambassador to Germany William E. Dodd - what he witnessed during his years of residence and service in Berlin, Germany brought about a significant change of mindset. At first he seemed prone to write off as hyperbole tales of anti-semitic persecution. I think the Night of the Long Knives marked the turning point opening his eyes to an uncomfortable Truth, a truth I suspect he might have chosen not to know about if given the choice. As a man of principal, knowing created a conflict within himself; he could not merely stand by in silence but must act to make a change, but how? The politics of the time presented obstacles: following his conscience would have consequences and take a toll on himself and on his family for which he was ill-prepared.
