I watch as he drops his head into the kiss, and my heart shatters for the millionth time in my life because the girl he’s kissing isn’t me.
R.I.P to my heart.
“You know that look on your face does wonders for my ego.” “The eggplant emoji is supposed to be a euphemism, not a real thing.” “Is this the part where I’m supposed to say it’ll fit?”
“I feel things for you, Quinn, and I don’t know where they’ve come from, because we’ve only ever been friends, but they’re there. Feelings. Big ones and…” He pauses for a second, and I realize I’m not breathing either. “I want to feel them. I think I’ve loved you across lifetimes, Quinn, and I don’t want to stop now.”
“Tell me to stop. If you don’t want to do this here, tell me now,” he says, breathless, but I can see in his eyes that he’s hoping I won’t. “Because I think you’ve given me a new kink. Almost getting caught with you turns me the fuck on.”
I turn, and there she is—the one person who pulled me out of that darkness when I thought there was no escape, who helps me without question or hesitation.
“You’re going to make me cry again.” She sniffs as she fights back tears. “I’m supposed to be the one helping you.” “And sometimes, Queenie,” I say, reaching over to squeeze her hand, “I want to be the one helping you.”
She nods, her smile mirroring mine, and I want to make sure that I can be her everything, always because she’s my First Down: All the way girl.
Sometimes when life presents you with a decision, we can choose to fight or fall.
“I take full responsibility for what I did, because no one forced me to do it. I could’ve, no I should’ve said no. But I didn’t.”
Hudson has added you to “Textual Healing” group chat. Opening the notification with a laugh, I see Seb, Hudson, and Jay are all in the chat too.
“Now, I don’t know about you two, but I need to get my perfectly peachy ass to a party.” “Perfectly peachy ass?” I laugh, because that’s more like it. “You know it’s true.” “I don’t make a habit of looking at your ass, Huds.” “You should, it’s delightful.” “Peachy, I’ve heard.”
“Stick to the path, even when it feels like everything’s falling apart. Trust your team—they’ll get you through the rough patches.”
