“You’re already in here.” His palm covered his heart. “Half of you at least…you’ve got the other half of mine in there.” He pointed at my chest.
“Forever, Caelum. I’ll want you for that long, and then longer when the devil demands my soul.” She kissed my chest. “He can’t have what belongs to me.”
“I’ve wanted to make you my wife since I was seven years old. Whenever you’re ready to carry my last name, you’re welcome to have it.”
Gently gripping her hips, I pulled her closer and pressed my mouth to hers. Our kiss was like those stories I grew up reading, a memory pressed into pages with ink, old and tattered, nearly forgotten. I moved us to her bed, laying her down, relishing the way her lips tipped up as I hovered over her.
