To get a Professional Engineering license, you take the Professional Engineering exam. It includes a breadth section, which covers the gamut of civil engineering, and a depth section. Even though my undergraduate concentration was structural engineering, most of my professional experience leaned toward transportation, so I decided to take the Professional Engineering licensure test with the transportation depth.
