She had the urge to cross her arms over her chest, but resisted solely because she didn’t want to pull her wrist away from Maddie and lose the soothing touch of her fingertips.
“I’ll be up watching all night,” Saff replied. “Nothing will get to you.”
There were some moments where she felt like she could see through her. Like her actions were saying something different than her words.
“I wasn’t on my own,” Maddie answered quickly. “She was with me the whole time.”
You deserve someone who can make you smile like this.”
She didn’t think she was worth it. She didn’t think she deserved to be saved.
“I love you,” she whispered, her voice breaking on the words as tears poured out, realizing how true it was and how much she’d regretted not saying it sooner.
