In Halo’s case, Samantha would still have delivered had she chosen abortion, but rather than delivering an intact baby she would have instead delivered a child mangled by forceps whom she and Luis would have never been able to hold, see, kiss, or tell “I love you.” Halo would have been unceremoniously discarded by hospital staff and waste management rather than buried in the presence of her family.
