Christ’s marriage to his church is the redemption of the marriage of Adam and Eve that was tarnished by sin at the beginning. That’s the gospel. The marriage of a man and a woman, as an earthly metaphor of Christ the Bridegroom and His bride, is meant to reflect this good news.
