We know what it feels like to be told that the core of who you are is evil. Ex-Muslims use phrases like in the closet and come out because they are equally fitting. The plight of a Muslim gay person, a double whammy, has to be the worst possible scenario. A Muslim, gay woman—that has to be the worst fate possible.
