Fisher Engle is larger than life, at least in personality. He’s not physically bulky, but he’s tall and has a wiry frame. His height isn’t what sets him apart, though. It’s that bright blue mohawk of his and the tattoos that cover almost every inch of his skin, from his fingertips to his neck.
Her gaze drops to watch the movement, skimming along my body and resting on where my gun is on display, holstered at my side. I repeat the motion of rolling up my other shirtsleeve until both my forearms are exposed, and then I lean forward, resting my elbows on my knees. A lock of my hair falls on my forehead with the motion, and I run my fingers through the strands, pushing it back into place. Then I quirk a brow at her.
“Listen, I don’t know what kind of kinky shit you’re into, but I’m not here for this,” Sean says, pulling at his restraints again and hissing as the metal digs into his skin. I have half a mind to believe you were the one there trying to kill him in the first place.” She lunges toward me, the knife nicking the skin on my arm and making me suck in a sharp hiss. “And then you came along and fucked everything up, and plans changed. You just couldn’t leave well enough alone.” Her admission is a concrete boulder crashing into me, but I should have seen it coming. After all, I’ve been truly blind to what’s been going on for years; it was just an illusion that I was part of the bigger picture. “Sorry, but you did a shit job, Aria. He was still alive because you fucked

“The truth is, Yrsa Venesa Andersen, my soul knew you were its other half the moment I laid eyes on you. You have changed me. Irrevocably. I don’t want you in a different life. I need you in this one and all the ones we’ll have after.” Emotion clogs my throat and I clear it. “So marry me.”
