No matter what community you are a part of, religious or not, centering yourself as the main character in your story is exponentially more likely to heighten your expectations for yourself and others, leaving very little grace when you or those around you mess up. When we allow individuals and communities their rightful place in our own heart, we won’t be surprised when they fail us. Grace and forgiveness have more room to breathe.
