The answer to anxiety has more to do with who God is than with who we are. The answer to our worry is not to look inward but to look upward.
the peace of God does not fall into our laps as we sit and wait for it but rather is given by God to those who fix their minds on and fill their hearts with God’s matchless and unchanging character.
Some of the most anxious people on earth are those who grew up declaring great truths about God but are foreigners to the truths they express
“The gospel is the difference between being afraid of God and fearing God.”
Anxiety isolates us. Worry detaches us. Depression disconnects us from those we love.
Psalm 63:3, “Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You” (NKJV).
God’s children are often their own answers to prayer. In other words, we pray often for revival, but we seldom proclaim Christ. We pray for a job, but we don’t diligently apply and interview. We pray for an unsaved friend or relative and yet we have not been persistent in pleading with them in the truth. We, as God’s children, are dependent on our Father, but dependence does not disqualify our diligence in obedience.
