“Good. I assume you won’t have any problem leaving the same way. You seem capable enough. I will see you soon.” Like fuck you will. “I’ll be waiting.”
Laughter ripples through the room, ringing out like delicate chimes, and Talan’s fingers tighten around me, as if he were actually protective of me.
Talan.” When I glance back, I find his eyes locked on me. “How strange. I like the way it sounds when you say my name.”
“Were you ever in love?” The candlelight dances over his carved muscles. “There’s only one woman for me, and she is a figment of my imagination, a voice in my thoughts.”
