I strain my fucked-up brain to come up with something nice to say. Because me and her, I want us to grow old together. Surrounded by litters of piglets. I like that idea.
But I’m lying. She’s right not to trust me. I won’t be satisfied until I’m bound to her for eternity. Dramatic? I always have been. It’s my greatest asset.
“I’d take a million risks for you, Rhianna.” He kisses my mouth, then grinds his way inside me. “And whatever happens next,” he says, “whatever fate may throw our way, you know I love you.”
Then he smiles. He smiles like someone who just won the lottery. “Fuck me, little rabbit,” he laughs, “I fucking died.” And I fall backwards onto my behind and sob with relief into my hands.
“You, Rhi,” I say, “you. The thought of you was the only thing keeping me alive.”
She doesn’t. Instead, she presses her mouth to mine. This crazy, fearless girl, who risked her fucking neck to come save me, even though I’ve been a giant ass to her, kisses me.
The Enforcer. The Professor. The Assassin. The werebeast. And the Lord Protector’s son.
