Not only is he a necrophile . . . he’s a cannibal too! It almost sounded like the punchline of a joke.
She wanted to stand still, as if that would render her invisible to the maniacs. She wanted to run, as if they couldn’t easily catch up to her. She wanted to fight, as if she had a chance.
The heady stench of human decay hung like drapes in the trailer. It was an aroma that made both men feel right at home amongst the absolute chaos that was their lives.
Outside of Raleigh’s tough girl exterior and heavy metal persona hid a total sweetheart. Henry wouldn’t have believed it when he first met her, of course, but during their terrifying plight, she slowly pulled down the façade. Beyond the butch appearance, the pentagram earring, the half-shaved head, and the unintelligible band logo shirt for Geriatric Genocide—what a putrid name, by the way— lurked a girl who could muster profound bravery when it was needed, paired with a heart almost too big for her chest to contain.
Her fantasy had come to fruition . . . and it made her wish she was dead.

He was nothing but another toxic male who thought of females as merely the means for them to get off either sexually or violently. For such men, the purpose was nearly interchangeable.
She was pure evil . . . just like they were. A demon hidden in the angelic form of a young woman.
