When Tori stood back up, her cheeks were flushed a gentle pink and their gazes locked. “Like what you see?”
Tori gazed down into her honeyed eyes, Miranda’s lips parted as if surprised, but her gaze held an entirely different look. She’d expected this. Maybe even wanted it.
“Tori,” Miranda growled her name. “I think we’ve had enough to drink tonight.” “Just as a reminder,” Tori said as she leaned in, pressing her lips close to Miranda’s ear. She closed her eyes and dragged in a deep breath, taking Miranda’s scent in fully for the first time ever. “You’re the one who refilled my drink when I said I wouldn’t be driving home if I had another. Was that an invitation?”
“Miranda,” Tori whispered, kissing her again. She was falling and hard. “Tell me to stop.” Miranda held Tori close, her kisses turning feverish. She opened her eyes and pulled back slightly, her chest rising and falling rapidly. Her look was sincere. “No.” “Fuck.” “Exactly.”
“Touch me like I’m your whole world.” The wistfulness in Tori’s voice startled Miranda.
“I’m glad you came over. It’s easily the best thing that has happened all week.” “Uh-oh.” Tori sat, one leg bent with her knee pressed against the back of the couch, and gave a small understanding smile. “Want to talk about it?” “No, that’s not what you came here for.” Miranda mirrored Tori’s position and tried to conjure the images of their flirting from last weekend, but Tori’s open blue eyes kept her trapped in the here and now. “I came here to see you,” Tori said as she entwined their fingers along the back of the couch. “Whatever that means.” Warning bells went off in Miranda’s head. But

Tori had to take her. Touch her. Anything to give the growing ache between her legs some relief. Even though Miranda instinctively knew that the ache in her heart wouldn’t be eased by anyone other than Tori.
Miranda shuffled over and lay half on Tori, one leg thrown over Tori’s and her hand cupping Tori’s breast as though they were made solely for her. Miranda blinked at her train of thought. What the hell was she thinking? Her hands weren’t made for anyone. What would be next? That she loved Tori and believed in soulmates? Her heart, which had just begun to slow, beat faster again as neither of these ideas inspired the jeering disgust that usually accompanied it. Tori’s breath slowed and deepened, and Miranda looked up from where her head rested on Tori’s shoulder. Her eyes were closed, and her

Would Tori let Haylee fuck her like Miranda had on their first—she stopped.
Miranda had made the mistake of not going after what she wanted. Not in the right way at least. She was too late to realize exactly who Tori was to her.
When she had Rebel strapped into her seat and was sitting in her car, she pressed her forehead to the steering wheel as she was racked with guilt. What had she done? She’d ruined everything she’d had going for her. All for what? Rebel? She didn’t even know if she could get custody yet or if Tierney would swoop back in and take Rebel away from her. But she didn’t want to go through that alone. She needed Tori to walk side-by-side with her in those ups and downs. Miranda let out a shuddering breath and tried to pull herself together. She didn’t have another choice. She’d pushed Tori away and

She groaned into Miranda’s mouth as she tasted the familiar flavor that was Miranda and hints of the coffee that would have gotten her through the day. This was home. Miranda was her soulmate. Tori had no doubt about it now.
“I love you, Tori. I thought soulmates weren’t real. I thought I didn’t believe in them. But if there’s one thing you’ve taught me, and you’ve taught me a lot, it’s that you were right. You’re my soulmate.” Tori’s eyes flew open. Her heart seized in her chest, tightening. Every fiber of her being was frozen on the spot. “What did you say?” “I love you, Tori Frazee, and I’m not willing to give you up.”
