The last time a shadow and lightning wielder fought side by side, they managed to drive the venin back into the Barrens for a few hundred years. We’ll figure out how to do it again.”
Xaden and I are the first of our signets to live simultaneously since the Great War?
“Not just Aretia, either…he gave me Tyrrendor,” Xaden says slowly, like he can’t believe it, either.
“There’s a very small, very skilled group going with Violet to find Andarna’s kind.”
I simply don’t think its fair that Vi doesn’t get to pick who goes with her… like i imagine a huge diff it makes to try to work with and fight cohesively with people you don’t know and haven’t fought with before, opposed to those you are comfortable with & and have fought side by side with. Not to mention those you trust.
“Mira found a way. It involves altering the very material a rune is tempered into without destroying it.”
“Now, I love you like a brother, and I get that you lost your leg, and we respect however you’re feeling about that, but you’re still one of us. You’re still a rider, with all the benefits and shit that come with wearing black. So with all the love in my heart, put your fucking uniform on, because we need you.”
“And how does the Empyrean feel about this?” I tap my fingers on my thigh, counting out the seconds.
“You have the full support of the Aretian riot. We will find out how the others feel in the morning.”
we watch a spot on the top line of runes differentiating Navarre’s wardstone from Aretia’s bubbling outward. It’s working.
Brennan barks as Ridoc throws up his hands, hurtling a ball of ice toward the stone. It makes contact with a hiss, and Ridoc holds it there as steam bursts skyward, then fizzles and dies. “Maybe this wasn’t such a great idea—”
I’m not entirely certain what were doing here, is Sawyer extracting the iron or?! I guess the right question to ask is why these wards cause the fliers not to be able to use their magic…
